Antique Cylindrical Tea Caddy in Chinoiserie Lacquer – 19th Century

Antique cylindrical tea caddy, made from black lacquer (charão) on an organic structure, dating from the 19th century. The removable lid and body retain traces of the original hand-painted decoration with gold pigments.

This tubular model was traditionally manufactured in Asia for the export and storage of tea batches in the European market (Chinoiserie). The piece exhibits a very authentic historical patina, with handling marks that attest to its antiquity.
