Vista Alegre Jug with Hand-Painted Angels — 19th Century (1881–1921)

An extraordinary fine porcelain jug from the prestigious Portuguese manufacturer Vista Alegre, produced between 1881 and 1921, corresponding to the factory's Mark No. 23–27 — a circular green stamp with the intertwined letters "VA" and the inscription "Portugal".
To the right of the mark, there is a handwritten signature in gold — confirming that the central scene and all the gilding were entirely hand-painted in the Vista Alegre workshops.
Unlike similar pieces in barbotine or majolica from other European manufacturers, this jug was produced from high-quality molded fine porcelain, a highly complex technical achievement given the high level of organic relief and the sophistication of the structural ramifications.
