"My Tissues" Box

"My Handkerchiefs" Box - Solid Mahogany Wood and Portuguese Silver - 20th Century. A piece of Portuguese craftsmanship made of solid mahogany wood, carved and framed with Portuguese silver applications, dating from the 20th century. It has a rectangular body at the bottom, with a lid that moves upwards and downwards, decorated in the center with the inscription "My Handkerchiefs". The ends are ornamented with cut-out silver applications, composed of embossed flowers flanked by vegetal scrolls, finished with a frame known as "twisted and trembling". The base is decorated with geometric motifs carved in a zigzag pattern, topped in the center by a cut-out silver escutcheon, also resting on a twisted and trembling frame. The interior retains its natural wood finish, without upholstery, preserving the authenticity and sobriety of the piece.
