Singular and imposing cachepot in Vista Alegre porcelain, decorated with the historic Map of Macao by Pedro Barreto de Resende (17th century), published in the Book of the Maps of All the Fortresses, Cities and Towns of the State of Portuguese India, by António Bocarro, 1635, housed in the Public Library and District Archive of Évora.

The piece features a polychrome composition of great visual richness, with the panoramic view of Macao encompassing the entire cylindrical body. The upper frieze displays inscriptions in Chinese characters and in Portuguese — "City of the Name of God" —, and the side handles are modelled in the shape of gilded lion heads, giving the piece a truly scenic character. The upper rim is gilded.

The base bears the official Vista Alegre mark and the complete authentication inscription of the historical source.
