A collectible antique from the Real Fábrica de Sacavém, dated circa 1885: an octagonal platter in Portuguese faience with the iconic "Cavalinho" (Little Horse) motif, one of the most emblematic and collected patterns in the history of Portuguese ceramics. The cobalt blue transferware technique on white is characteristic of Sacavém production from this period.

Sacavém was the largest faience factory in Portugal in the 19th century, and pieces with the "Cavalinho" motif are highly sought after today by national and international collectors. Difficult to find in good condition, these vintage platters mark a unique moment in Portuguese industrial ceramics of the Belle Époque.

Very good condition. No chips or cracks, retaining the original vibrancy of the blue and white decoration.
