A rare example of 19th-century Portuguese decorative design in molded glass, likely originating from the workshops of Marinha Grande, renowned for their excellence in glassmaking since the beginning of the century. The domed body is decorated with vertical fluting in cobalt blue, creating a striking and elegant visual effect. The faceted base rests on scalloped feet, giving stability and a sculptural character to the piece.
The side handle, in a cut-out and openwork volute shape, reveals the technical mastery in glass molding, standing out for its fluidity and formal balance. It shows signs of use consistent with its age, which reinforce the authenticity and historical value of the piece.
