Elegant cruet set of English manufacture, comprising a high-quality silver-plated stand and original faceted glass containers. A decorative piece with manufacturing hallmarks on the base, ideal for sophisticated tables.
Description
We present a refined cruet set, a characteristic example of English utilitarian cutlery and silver plate from the late 19th to early 20th century.
The stand rests on a stepped circular silver-plated base, which displays its respective British manufacturing guarantee hallmarks and catalogue serial number 12242 on the side. The support rises into a turned central mast with a large upper ring for carrying. The ring perfectly holds its original transparent glass containers with an octagonal section and faceted cutting.
The Set Includes
- Two main cruets with fluted necks and original faceted molded glass stoppers (for oil and vinegar)
- A central open glass cup (for salt or spices)
- Complementary rings on the rim for small additional bottles (pepper pot or mustard pot)
