Ewer and Basin Set in Faience — Estrela de Conímbriga, 17th Century Style

Traditional Portuguese decorative set of ewer and basin (jug and bowl) in faience, produced by Estrela de Conímbriga (Portugal), piece no. 283, signed by Idalina.

The pieces are hand-painted with floral and animal (deer) motifs, inspired by the classic Coimbra style of the 17th Century. The polychrome decoration covers the entire surface with an exuberant composition of deer, birds, florals and foliage on a white background, with a yellow and blue frieze on the rim.
